Supported by the New Zealand Vice-Chancellors Committee, the Enhancement Theme is a topic in which universities collectively address an issue which is important to individual universities and of national significance.

As a part of the sixth cycle of academic audit for universities. The enhancement phase of the audit cycle runs from 2017 to March 2020. More information on Cycle 6 academic audit is available on the AQA website.   

 

The current topic is “Access, outcomes and opportunity for Māori students and for Pasifika students”.

Universities New Zealand - Te Pōkai Tara

Universities New Zealand is the sector voice for all eight universities, representing their views nationally and internationally, championing the quality education they deliver, and the important contribution they make to New Zealand and New Zealanders. 

Under the Education Amendment Act 1990, it has statutory authority for the quality assurance of academic programmes delivered in New Zealand’s universities, and administering scholarships. Universities New Zealand's work programme is informed by a network of specialist committees and advisory groups, made up of representatives from each university.
